NEW Single-Sort Recycling with MORE MATERIALS
Milwaukee Department of Public Works |
Recycle More Wisconsin
It’s back! On Saturday May 16th, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, the City of Milwaukee will host a ONE-DAY-ONLY compost bin and rain barrel truckload sale. Composting and rainwater harvesting are great ways to promote a healthy lawn and garden, reduce waste and save landfill space, save money on water costs and reduce pollution.
The event will take place rain or shine in the parking lot east of the Wilson Park Senior Center at 2601 W. Howard Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53221. A limited number of Earth Machine™ compost bins and SYSTERN rain barrels will be available for $45 and $55 (including tax), offering significant savings from regular retail prices of $100 and $120, respectively. Kitchen collectors will also be available for sale for convenient collection of food waste in the home. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted, and the event is not restricted to City of Milwaukee residents.
For more info, see event FLYER or call 286-CITY (2489).

For more information on the impact of your recycling habits,
Each year Milwaukee residents recycle over 50 million
pounds of materials through the City’s curbside program, but they also
throw away an equal amount that could have been recycled. That’s well over a
million dollars worth of recyclable materials that ends up in landfills, not in
the City budget where it could be used to provide services, reduce property
taxes, and protect the environment.
